Rendu Ghatam was a performance that Sumana created in 2015.
The work explored notions of gender embodied in the stories and sounds of the Ghatam. Inspired by the journeys of three women - the maker, the teacher and the student – the performance unravelled ‘rendu’ not as ‘double’ but as ‘duality’ in the spaces the Ghatam inhabits.

Between 2015 and 2021, the work was widely performed in India, especially in universities.
